A shabby little Christmas with Mr Nylon!

After buying himself a coffee Mr Nylon entered the cottage and found himself in a room filled with shabby Christmas delight!
'Hmmm, not exactly my cup of tea', he thought, 'but I'm sure there would be some that would like it. Best thing about this place is that it's quiet.'

After taking a good look at his shabby surroundings Bri made himself as comfortable as he could on the pretty couch.
Looking rather pleased with himself he enjoyed a good magazine and his coffee in peace until he realised that something wasn't quite right.
'Maybe it's just a little too quiet', he thought...

Bri rushed back home to the welcoming arms of his (rather forgiving) family.

But where's the baby you ask?

Baby Peach is crawling as fast as she can when she spies a Christmas decoration on the floor.
That's no toy for a baby! I hear you say...oh, well, I guess it's not going to be peaceful for long!

Merry Christmas to All and to All a Good Night!

It wouldn't be Christmas without a little drama would it?!

Thank you for all your Christmas wishes, I hope you all have a very happy Christmas!

Just a little more Christmas!

Our computer went out of action a couple of days before Christmas so I never got to show you the country dollhouse decorated for the season. As I had actually made an effort to decorate it this year I thought I'd give you a quick look now.
I bought myself this beautiful new decoration and made a mini version of it for the dollhouse.

I don't have a mini turkey so the kids are having Debbie's burgers and chips for Christmas dinner (I'm sure they'll be happier with that anyway!) and the adults are having Susanna's beautiful meals.

I was lucky enough to receive this wonderful little advent calendar from Maia who I sent my Christmas swap gift to.

My sister made this baby in a manger from fimo over 20 years ago when she was about 12!

Here's the 1:1 tree. I promise to be more organised next year (yeah, right!) and show you more of the decorations, most of them are very special!

And here was one VERY excited Liberty on Christmas Eve hanging her stocking by the chimney with care! As you can see from the clock it was very late. We went to her grandparents house to see their Christmas lights but as it is summer here it doesn't get dark until after 9pm.

Last days of the Advent Calendar & Christmas Swap

Here are the last few days of gifts I received from my Advent calendar swap with Susanna.
Snowballs!

Yay! Now I can make some baskets!

A cute little dog and a jar of doggy treats!

A beautifully woven basket.

The cutest cabinet, a gorgeous candle wreath and Christmas books.

Thank you Susanna for making this the most fun December ever! It was very odd not waking up to open something on boxing day, Liberty misses it too!

And this beautiful angel is the gift I received from Caterina as part of the Christmas swap arranged by Rosanna.
Thank you Caterina!

A Shabby Little Christmas

There's not much time to spare for 'playing' these days but I've managed to add a little bit of Christmas to the shabby house.

Hope all your preparations are going well. I'm off to the shops shortly...don't want to have to go out on Christmas Eve.

The Pixies Christmas!

When Jo sent me her little pixies I knew I had to use them for something special! I made this 'Pixie Christmas' box to display at our final club meeting for the year a few weeks ago. Now it sits on my mantlepiece. The box isn't very big, just 15 x 17cm. I've tried to keep most of the colours in the scene to the four basic colours Jo used on the pixies. The Christmas tree was a decoration and I made the hearts on it from Fimo.

The 'Believe' picture was a sticker from an old Mary Englebreit calendar.

How cute is that little pixie?!
There's the tiniest elf Jo made (he's just visiting the Christmas box). The Finnish flags are there because they were the right colour!
Can you imagine how happy I was to find that book title 'The Elf on the Shelf'!!!! The bowl beside him and the jug on the mantlepiece I made from paper.
The angel on the wall is a button. I bought the fimo Santa in Melbourne and I made the blue bowl with the hearts from Fimo...but I'm not that confident with Fimo yet!

Debbie there are your gorgeous toadstools, I promise I'll give them back to Noah. I made the chair in great haste, wouldn't recommend sitting on it!
The Christmas stockings were very tricky to make! The gingerbread man on the wreath is a scrapbooking embellishment. The starfish and seashells in the basket are just there because they are the right colour, lol! The little table is a Debbie Mumm Christmas button.

Now if you love little pixies as much as I do pop on over to Lissu's blog here and see what she's done with her Maileg pixies...how funny that two people on opposite sides of the world should have a similar idea!

One week gone already!

Liberty and I have been having so much fun opening the gifts in Susanna's advent calendar. It feels like Christmas every day!

Day 1. A sewing box

Day 2. A feather duster and tiny step stool.

The little step stool is Liberty's favourite thing so far because she has this real one of her own!

Day 3. The cutest bag of tiny 'Lush' soaps.

Day 4. A Bonnie Lavish kit to make roses.

Day 5. A whisk in a bowl of cream.
Day 6. These gorgeous shabby pictures, you have no idea how happy I am to own these!

Day 7. A beautiful fine wire basket.
Now, I know you're all thinking we have more than enough Advent calendars in our house but I've just made one more...each of these little numbered bags has a small Christmas decoration in it. (I bought all the decorations in the after-Christmas sales last year.)

Each day Liberty opens one and puts the decoration on the tree branch in her room.
Back soon with more Christmassy fun!
