Time for a change?

I was being very lazy this morning (it's Saturday here) sitting on the couch flicking through Kim's beautiful book.
Kim's minis always inspire me...and I've decided it might be time for a makeover in the Country House.

The Country kitchen as it is now.

There are plenty of things that annoy me about this house. For one: it is a big and heavy house and it takes up a lot of room in my tiny craft space. And for another: the configuration of the rooms leaves a lot to be desired. But with a bit of thought (sometimes it's hard to think with kids running around all the time!) I'm sure I can solve a few of my issues.
Every now and then I think I should get rid of it but then I look inside and realise I can't part with it!
It's the house that started me off on my mini-making adventures...and what amazing adventures I have had!

So now I'm thinking it's time for a complete makeover...a new look!
Watch this space...I'm excited!

A Miniature Party for One!

When I went to visit Kim she gave me this gorgeous little Bonnie Justice doll as a gift for Liberty.
Luckily Liberty agreed as soon as she saw her that she should reside in the party room above the Patisserie.

I bought the balloons in the USA and attached them to her chair.

All the food in this room was made for us by the super talented Kim!

Rice Krispie Treats!

Cake pops and cookies!

Hmmm...she looks a little lonely...we might have to look for some friends someday!

I always make tissue paper pompoms for the real parties I style so I thought I'd make them for the mini party...they were very fiddly and took far longer to make than the life size ones!

 Isn't she just divine?!

She came with the beautiful chair.

A peek through the window.
The party girl has found her home!

A little scrapbooking...

I needed a card for a friends baby shower.
I thought I would go and buy one (any excuse to go shopping!)...but then I looked at my scrapbooking pile and knew I should make one.
This is the card before it was quite finished...I added a heart shaped paper clip where it says 'this heart belongs to'.
It was fun to go through all my scrapping stuff again...I've had to tell myself I really cannot buy any more scrapbook supplies until I've used what I have here...I do find it hard to resist small pretty things though!

When I was looking for inspiration to make my card I came across the blog Chouxchoux paper art by Lori Hairston.

The day I was there Lori  had a giveaway...so I left a comment and to my great surprise I won!!! The goodies above are what Lori sent me. A little package of scrapbooking gorgeousness! I ADORE that little pink dolly coat hanger! Thank you Lori, I'm a lucky girl!

And a huge Thank You to everyone who left a comment on the Shabby Shed, I'm so thrilled you like it!

The Little Shabby Craft Shed!

The shabby shed is finally finished...
and it's a little craft studio!
I've filled it with crafts representing many of the things I love to do.
The shed is pretty much filled with things I have made myself
and a few special little treasures from my friends.

There just had to be a teeny tiny shabby cottage in there!

 Cardigan a gift from Frederica.

Making a vintage sheet music wreath.

 Sewing and knitting.

A cupboard overflowing with craft 'stuff'.
I think most crafters have at least one of these in their house!

Scrapbooking.

Dollhouse building.

Little oil painting done by my mother!
The scene is a beach we used to go to when I was little.

Tiny polymer clay creations in the making.

Tiny embroidery.
My Bernina sewing machine is in a case like this and it's almost as old as I am!

Walnuts from Kim.

Beautiful shabby toolbox and fabulous tools a gift from Kim.
I think the tiny birdcage with old books and a nest inside and the tiny vintage tin on top might be my favourite thing I've made!

As usual there are things in here I'd love to have in my real house like an old shutter.

Coffee and cookie made by Kim.

Tiny copy of Mini-ologie magazine (featuring my barn!) made by Lori Turner-Dolinsek.
I was lucky enough to meet Lori went I was in America and she sent me the magazine when I got home.

 Night time!

A birds eye view.
I hope you've enjoyed that little tour around the shabby craft shed!
It's kind of 1:12 scale or maybe a little bit smaller, I'll try to do another post soon showing the scale of some of the very tiny things in there.
