I've been wanting to make a plate rack for the shabby chic kitchen for such a long time.
I finally decided I had thought about it long enough and just had to sit down and make it. It was nowhere near as difficult to make as I thought it was going to be.
I also made a little shelf and painted those sweet little parfait glasses, they're metal minis.
And while we're in the shabby house...I received a beautiful gift from Kim Saulter just before I went on holiday.
This gorgeous 'real life' cupcake book which Liberty looks at every day. She goes through it page by page and I have to read it and tell her about each cupcake.
And Kim also sent this glass platter of the most exquisite Christmas cookies, they look so perfect in the shabby house!

The plate rack is just lovely. I just love the parfait glasses- I'll be looking at metal minis with new eyes now.

Needless to say Mercedes...another wonderful item of furniture, it looks so good & the plates look so at home in it. The room in general looks fantastic!!! So many wonderful little items, you certainly have a 'special touch'.

How can such a tiny place hold so many beautiful things? I Love the rack! The plates are wonderful too. I just painted metal as well. Not easy. Did you use a primer 1st? And a varnish? Your perfume bottles still look wonderful although it's almost 1 year now since I received them? Those bottles never got shabby, you know :)

That plate rack is fabulous, a great addition to that corner.
Great mini-ing weather here in NZ at the moment isn't it - pity all my mini stuff is in Oz and I'm in need of good weather to paint do stuff to the outside of the REAL cottage! Have plenty of inside tasks tho while we wait (impatiently) for the rain to push off.
This is one of the most lovely kitchen I have ever seen!! Wonderfull work!
